This is a tribal dance of the famous Bheel tribe of Rajasthan, who are footloose and fancy free and are known for their nomadic nature. They move about in groups and amongst them is a dance-drama troupe which consists of various characters who are both good actors as well as accomplished dancers. They travel from village to village in a particular month, to provide the much needed relief and recreation to the rural population.
In this dramatical form of dance, the characters enact the roles that are assigned to them with amazing authenticity and the audience also applaud approvingly. The Gawari is also accompanied by a madal and a thali. The tribals who perform this traditional form have inherited the art from their forefathers and till date religiously follow age old rituals and traditions and that`s the beauty of these dances.
