Kacchi Ghodi

This dummy-horse dance form originated from the bandit-infected regions of Rajasthan, known as Shekhawati. People here are terrorised by the brutal attacks of the bandits day in and day out and find respite from this by seeing and performing the dance that depicts true courage and chivalry. Elaborately dressed horses, with equally exotically attired dancers, moving about with a lot of vitality and vivacity, paint a picture of valour that is the inherent trait of the princely state of warriors.

Efficiency comes effortlessly to the dancers, who perform with the horses with a lot of vigour and skilfully showcase the sword-fighting sequences while a chorus churns out chivalrous symphony and sing about the spirited heroes of that era.
